Julia Kwolyk

Julia Kwolyk has studied classical violin for decades, playing at Boston University's Tanglewood Institute and Connecticut College, where she served as Concert Mistress of the Connecticut College Symphony Orchestra.  She completed her B.A. in Music from Furman University.  With ample exposure to celtic, jazz, and most recently bluegrass music, she readily collaborates across genres.  She has been a guest performer with The Boston Pops, the University of Virginia Jazz Band, at Appaloosa Music Festival and Dayton Irish Fest, as well as The Paramount Theater and The Southern Music Hall in Charlottesville, VA.

Julia is also an accomplished singer and composer and she has a private violin studio in Charlottesville.  She loves being a member of local bluegrass band Rare Bird Alert.

Laurel Humiston

Laurel has been playing the cello since the young age of 3. She received her B.A. in music from Western Michigan University, and since acquired the first level of certification to teach using the Bornoff Approach. She has been surrounded with celtic and folk influences and has also gained a love for improvisation. She has performed with several chamber groups, small orchestra's, theater companies, bands and songwriters.

Laurel is a member of the Charlottesville's all female band Larkspur, and occasionally performs with local musician/singer-songwriter Matthew McAllister.
